                                              Burger Recipe

Ingredients

For the Burger Patties:

  • 500g (1 lb) ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat for juiciness)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 tsp onion powder (optional)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional, for flavor)

For the Burger:

  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 slices of cheese (optional, for cheeseburgers)
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Onion rings
  • Pickles (optional)
  • Condiments: ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, or any sauce you like

Optional Add-ons:

  • Bacon strips
  • Avocado slices
  • Jalapeños

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Patties

  1. In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt, pepper, and optional seasonings (garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce). Do not overmix, as it can make the meat dense.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, about ¾ inch thick. Press a slight indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent puffing during cooking.
  3. Refrigerate the patties for 15–20 minutes to firm up.

Step 2: Cook the Patties

  1. Heat a grill, grill pan, or skillet over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the surface to prevent sticking.
  2. Cook the patties for 3–4 minutes on each side for medium doneness (adjust time for desired level). Add a slice of cheese during the last minute if making cheeseburgers.
  3. Remove the patties from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes.

Step 3: Toast the Buns

  1. Slice the burger buns in half.
  2. Toast them lightly on the grill or in a pan with a little butter for added flavor.

Step 4: Assemble the Burger

  1. Spread your favorite condiments on the bottom half of the bun.
  2. Layer lettuce, a cooked patty, tomato slices, onion rings, and pickles.
  3. Add any additional toppings you like, then place the top half of the bun on top.

Step 5: Serve

  1. Serve your burgers immediately with fries, coleslaw, or a fresh salad on the side.

Tips for Variations

  • Chicken Burger: Use ground chicken with similar seasonings.
  • Vegetarian Burger: Substitute with a veggie patty made from black beans, chickpeas, or mushrooms.
  • Flavor Boosts: Add BBQ sauce, caramelized onions, or a fried egg for extra flavor.

Enjoy your homemade burger! Would you like suggestions for a gourmet twist or different sauces? 😊
